Information & commitment regarding the 2013 BC National Team Program
WCMBHA of BC is looking for players to keep a strong tradition going with our BC National Program. In the past we have won many medals traveling across Canada to various National tournaments and have shown the nation we know our ball hockey! We have seen many minor players in BC go on to be a part of Junior Team Canada over the last 6-8 years and have made our country proud with medals in all divisions in the last three Junior Worlds, 7 of 9 have been World Gold.
COMMITMENT TO THE PROGRAM:
So all are aware before coming out to tryouts, there are costs and time commitments involved. There are 'player team fees' that cover jersey's, shorts, shirts, socks, practice floor time, banquet fees, misc. supply and team outing expenses. These fees are usually within the $300.00 range per player. All players and families are asked to stay at a reserved hotel during the tournament. We have secured the Hilton Garden Inn, in Oakville, Ontario. The rates are $119.00 per two queen bed rooms per night and offering a $5 per person price for morning full size hot and cold buffet breakfast. All players must commit to arriving at their own expense (hotel, ground and air travel, food) in Oakville, Ontario no later than 8:00pm Tuesday, July 30th and not to book flights/depart Oakville any earlier than 6:00pm Sunday, August 4th. FYI - Flights are approx. $620.00 on WestJet at this time, but seat sales are always coming up. WCMBHA and BCBHA have funds that are put towards traveling players and will be worked out with team managers of what may be expected and/or help.
PRACTICES and EXHIBITION GAMES BEFORE DEPARTURE:
All players are to commit to the coaching staffs schedule of practices and exhibition games prior to travel. If there is a conflict with your home association games, it is up to the player to contact the team officials of missing the time if decided. Players are asked to play their home association games before any BC Teams floor times. All players committed to a scheduled time are asked to be on time and ready for the session minimum half hour prior to floor time unless coaching staff indicates.
TOURNAMENT BEHAVIOR AND GUIDELINES:
These areas will be covered by National Director as well as team officials once the rosters have been set. There is a team banquet that is held on the Saturday night of the tournament. This is a must attend by all players and staff. Awards are handed out at this time. Team Canada Scouts and Staff will be on hand evaluating and scouting players for the 2014 Junior Team Canada program. This will take place for all divisions at the Nationals.
Friendly reminder the Open Tryouts are listed below.
